If Natural Stress Relief is the Question, Then L-Theanine is the Answer

If you have looked up natural remedies for helping you relax or deal with stress, then you are bound to have run into the compound L-Theanine. But you may have wondered what it actually is?

L-Theanine is actually an amino acid that is naturally found in tea leaves and some mushrooms. Since tea is the most common drink around the world besides water, so many people consume L-Theanine on a regular basis without even realizing it! The same dosage of 200 mg given to adults of all ages significantly improved stress-related symptoms like state-trait anxiety, self-rated depression, and sleep quality. (3) Plus if you needed any other reason to use this amino acid, it also significantly improved cognitive function scores.

And there are many more beneficial studies. In fact, there has been a systematic review done on L-Theanine to summarize all the different studies done on it. The conclusion of this systematic review was that a dosage of 200-400 mg per day can help reduce both stress and anxiety. (4)
